Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be in charge of the dancers supporting the likes of Britney or Robbie Williams? Well start limbering up now as you take on the challenge to become a choreographer for a day!

Working with dancers to interpret and develop ideas, a choreographer co-ordinates dance with music and composes routines designed to suggest story, interpret emotion, or enliven a show.

As choreographer for the day, you will be taught some basic dance moves and will learn how body language and gesture can be used to portray a character, situation or abstract concept to an audience. You will then be advised on how to translate these skills to a group and get them dancing as a unit.

Your team will have to choose a type of dance to perform; whether it be contemporary dance and disco or dances from West End musicals. Each member of the group will take it in turn to choreograph a section of the routine which will be performed in front of an audience at the end of the day.

Becoming a choreographer for the day will develop valuable leadership skills. It also requires creative thinking, motivating a group and organisational skills. If you fancy an energetic challenge which will produce a guaranteed sense of achievement at the end then become a choreographer for a day!
